Is Chemistry Just Applied Physics?
Sciences are subjects studied at all levels of education, aimed at enabling us to understand how certain phenomena in the universe work. They also help us comprehend how living things operate on the earth, and the balance of life between all of them is maintained. Science is purely based on evidence, and facts collected to come to a given solution. There is no middle ground here, since judgment is based on data. If the specimen is inconclusive, then further research is done until a uniform decision is made by all those conducting the research. Scientific data is collected by observing, done by measuring specimens, conducting experiments aimed at understanding the specimen from different angles. Sciences can be divided into four categories namely, mathematics and logic, physical, social, and biological.
Physical science is the orderly investigation of the inorganic world. This is particularly from the investigation of the natural world, which is the area of organic science. Physical science is normally considered as consisting of four wide territories: cosmology, material science, chemistry, and the Earth sciences. Each of these is therefore separated into fields for detailed understanding.
With chemistry and physics being under the same classification of sciences, it is common for them to share certain ideologies. One phenomenon could be explained in further detail in one branch than another. Chemistry will mainly deal with the chemical compositions of different compounds. Physicians will mainly be concerned about their state and their relationship with the earth’s gravitational pull. While the state of an object is defined in chemistry, it goes a step further to help us know the composition of an object.
We study physical chemistry, alongside mathematics with biology, to understand the universe better. Physical chemistry studies mostly energy, atomic orbitals, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics. In chemistry, you might learn about atoms, ions, and the nucleus of an atom. All those topics we study today were discovered by some great physicists.
When we look at a vehicle, we can analyze it using both physics and chemistry. In physics, we look at how the vehicle can move, and how different speeds will affect its weight distribution. We see the relation of the vehicle with the earth’s gravitational force, and whether it has a low or high center of gravity to guarantee its stability. The combustion of fuel is also studied, as it goes through different chambers to finally be a gas that propels the car to move.
In chemistry, we analyze the vehicle in terms of the type of metal used to build the body structure, how agile and strong it is. Corrosive nature is compared with other metals, where alloys are produced to reduce such cases. Fuel is looked at chemically in terms of what compounds are used to come up with petroleum or diesel, conducting tests on how to ascertain if you are getting pure fuel. This will help us ascertain if our vehicles will have good duration spans.
Each branch is one way or another dependent on all other branches. These divisions are meant to help us dive into the details of a certain phenomenon, but applications apply across the board.
